Nepal APF hold Army, finish on top

Nepal APF Club held Tribhuvan Army Club to a 1-1 draw in the Women’s National Football League here at the ANFA Complex grounds today.

In the last match of the group stage between the already qualified teams, TAC took the lead in the 23rd minute through a goal from Sabitra Bhandari, while APF’s Dipa Rai levelled the scores in the 77th minute. Both APF and TAC finished group campaign with seven points and the former advanced as Group B winners on superior goal difference. APF scored 31 goals, while TAC managed 30 in three matches.

In a meaningless match of Group A, Western Region beat Far-western Region 2-1. Priyanka Rana put Far-western ahead in the 31st minute before Bimala BK levelled the scores in 53rd and Sabina Bhattarai netted the winner in the 78th minute. Nepal Police Club and Eastern Region had already advanced to the Super League from the group.

Group A winners NPC will take on Group B runners-up TAC on Monday, while Group B winners APF will face Group B runners-up Eastern Region on Tuesday.
