Nepal beat Jordan 2-1 in AFC U-16 Qualifiers
KATHMANDU: A brace from Rejin Subba helped Nepal register 2-1 victory over Jordan in the opening match of the AFC U-16 Qualifiers in Bishkek of Kyrgyzstan on Wednesday.
Subba made breakthrough for Nepal scoring his first goal in the 25th minute. At half time, Nepal were leading 1-0.
Subba doubled the tally with another goal in the 70th minute.
Jordan scored a consolation goal in the dying minutes of the injury time.
Nepal are scheduled to play the hosts Kyrgyzstan on Friday.
Nepal are placed in Group B along with Kyrgyzstan, Oman and Jordan.
A total of 15 teams — group winners of all 10 pools and five best-runners up — will join hosts India in next year’s tournament proper.
