NPC beat Armymen; NDA triumph

Nepal Police Club recorded the second straight victory in the RBB-NVA Club League Volleyball Tournament here at the NSC covered hall today.

In the men’s category, NPC — who had defeated Nepal APF Club 3-2 on Tuesday — crushed another departmental side Tribhuvan Army Club in a five-set thriller. NPC took the first set 25-18 before TAC bounced back and went ahead by winning the next two sets 25-18 and 25-23.

NPC made it 2-2 with a hard-fought 25-23 victory to push the match to the deciding fifth set. NPC managed to win the fifth set 15-12 for their second consecutive victory.

In other matches of the day, Help Nepal Sports Club defeated Mani Mukunda Club in straight sets of 25-22, 25-20, 25-17, while APF saw off Jawalakhel Volleyball Training Centre 25-17, 25-16, 25-18. However, Jawalakhel bounced back to beat Dhorpatan 21-25, 25-16, 27-25, 25-18 in their second match of the day.

In women’s category, New Diamond Academy produced a 25-23, 25-16, 25-15 victory over Western Regional Volleyball Association, while TAC thrashed Jawalakhel 25-13, 25-13, 25-10.
