Nepal post 243-run target to Uganda in ICC U-19 World Cup Qualifier

KATHMANDU: Nepal have posted a target of 243 runs to Uganda in the ICC U-19 World Cup Qualifier being played at Kuala Lumpur on Friday.

Nepal won the toss and elected to bat first.

They played for allotted 50 runs and made 242 runs at the cost of seven wickets.

Skipper Raju Rijal made 101 runs off 115 balls and Aarif Sheikh contributed 54. Likewise, Yogendra Singh Karki added 30.

Rajbir Karki and Prem Tamang, not out, made 13 and 5 runs respectively.

Nepal's opener Sandeep Sunar was dismissed for meagre 2 runs in 2.5 overs, while his partner Sunil Dhamala was sent back to the pavilion for 7 runs in 4.1 overs when the scoreboard showed 13 runs only.

Karki, Rijal and Sheikh played responsibly to help Nepal build up the decent score against Uganda.

Uganda's Derrick Bakunzi claimed three wickets, while Kenneth Waisa took two. D Wabwire also took one wicket.
