KATHMANDU: Nepal Police Club stunned defending champions Chyasal Youth Club 1-0 and advanced to the semi-finals of the third Chandragiri Mayor Gold Cup Football Tournament here at the Naikap grounds on Saturday.

Suman Lama scored the solitary goal of the match in the 17th minute when he found the back of the nets from the crowded d-box. Lama was adjudged the man of the match and he received Rs 5,000.

NPC will face Brigade Boys Club for a place in the final. On Sunday, Nepal APF Club will take on Saraswoti Youth Club in the last quarterfinal match.

A total of 12 teams are taking part in the tournament organised by Deepshikha Youth Group.

Top two teams will earn Rs 650,000 and Rs 350,000 respectively, while best player of the tournament and the highest scorer will get Rs 30,000 each.
