NSJF announces People’s Choice Award nominees

KATHMANDU: Nepal Sports Journalists Forum (NSJF) has announced the five nominees of the People’s Choice Award category of the NSJF Pulsar Sports Award 2075, on Wednesday.

Cricketer Sandeep Lamichhane, footballer Kiran Kumar Chemjong, volleyball’s Man Bahadur Shrestha, Pratima Sherpa of golf and Shyantu Shrestha of table tennis were picked by the Selection Committee headed by NSJF Secretary Raju Ghising. The nominees have been chosen on the basis of their performances in 2074 BS.

The winner will be decided through SMS voting, Facebook likes, votes from the NSJF members and head coaches of the sports disciplines which were part of the seventh National Games. The SMS voting and Facebook likes will carry a weightage of 50 per cent and the votes from NSJF and coaches will carry another 50 per cent.

The Pulsar Sports Award to be held at the Army Officer’s Club, Kathmandu on May 17 includes eight categories including People’s Choice, Male, Female, Youth, Coach, Para-athlete, Special and Lifetime Achievement Awards.

The winners of the male, female, people’s choice and coach will get Bajaj Pulsar NS160 motorcycle each, while other winners will get Rs 50,000 each.

Meanwhile, NSJF signed the memorandum of understanding with its voting partner THT Live. NSJF President Acharya and THT Live Senior Manager Bhupendra Tamang exchanged the MoU.
