SINDHULI: Kamalamai Municipality of Sindhuligadhi is organising the Open Half Marathon on November 9 to mark the victory day over East India Company of British by Nepal Army under the command of Banshu Gurung in 1861.

The marathon will begin from Sindhuligadhi gateway to Chisyan Bhanjyang of Ratanchura VDC. Municipal Officer Jagat Prasad Bhusal informed that the event is being organised for the first time in the district. Bhusal also said that an organising committee had been formed under Chandidal Battalion’s Surya Bahadur Adhikari. Top three athletes will earn Rs 50,000, Rs 30,000 and Rs 20,000 respectively.
