Pokhara, April 20

Nepal Paragliding and Hanggliding Association announced the paragliding squad for the 18th Asian Games to be held in Indonesia from August 18 to September 2.

NPHA  picked up Bishal Thapa, Sushil Gurung, Sher Bahadur Gurung, Krishna  Sunuwar and Bimal Adhikari in cross country section. Bijay Dahal and  Nishim Thapa have been kept as reserved players. Similarly, Yubaraj  Sunuwar, Madan Kumar Sunuwar, Yukesh Gurung, Bijay Gautam and Anish  Bhattarai made it for the accuracy event. NPHA named Bishal Thapa and  Rishi Pode as reserved paragliders.

The paragliders were selected through an event held in Pokhara today. National  Sports Council’s Member and national team preparation committee  Coordinator Birendra Shrestha and Member Arjun BK as well as NSC  Training Department Director Rim Ranabhat officiated the  selection. Meanwhile, chief coach Sanu Babu Sunuwar informed that the selected paragliders will be kept  under closed camp training in Pokhara.
