Players off to Tunisia

KATHMANDU: A six-member Nepali taekwondo team on Wednesday left for Tunisia to take part in the Youth Olympic Qualification Championship and World Junior Taekwondo Championship.

The Youth Olympic Qualification is slated for April 5-7, while the junior championship will be held from April 7-13.

Ayasha Lama will compete in women's 49kg event, while Kapil Thapa will take part in men's 59kg and Shailesh Giri will fight in men's 48kg section.

Coach Shyam Dangol as well as Nepal Taekwondo Association President Prakash Sumsher Rana and General Secretary Deepraj Gurung accompanied the players to Tunisia.

President Rana and General Secretary Gurung will take part in the World Taekwondo Federation's General Assembly.
