Province No 3 and Province No 7 recorded victories in the first Inter-Province Blind Women’s Cricket Tournament here at the Institute of Engineering grounds today.

Province No 3 defeated the combined team of Province No 4 and Province No 1 by seven wickets, while Province No 7 saw off Province 5 by 60 runs.

In the first match, the joint team of Province 1 and Province 4 scored 154-3 in their allotted 20 overs before Province No 3 raced to 158-3 in 15.5 overs.

Rita Thapa and Sarita Ghimire scored 40 runs each for the combined team of Province 1 and 4.

In reply, Province No 3 reached the target riding on player-of-the-match Mankeshi Chaudhary’s 67 runs, while Ayushma Chhetri scored 29 runs.

In the second match, Province No 7 scored 86-4 before packing Province No 5 for 126-8.

Player-of-the-match Ashika Chaudhary scored 57 runs and Murada Rana contributed 26 runs for Province No 7. Asha Regmi added 30 runs and Bhuma Kharel scored 24 runs for Province No 5.

A total of four teams are taking part in the tournament organised by Cricket Association of Blind, Nepal. The event is supported by American Embassy in Nepal.
