BHAIRAHAWA: Sai Global Cricket Club of Bhairahawa defeated Golpark Cricket Club of Butwal by 32 runs in the opening match of the Shashikant-Sakuntala Barma T20 League Cricket Tournament here at the Siddhartha Stadium on Thursday.

Batting first, Sai Global scored 149-9 in 20 overs before Golpark reached 117-6. Rupesh Bastola top scored for Sai Global with 24, while Ajay Rasaili (22) and Abhisekh Dhakal (20 not out) scored in double figures.

Rajesh Thapa took three wickets for Golpark. In reply, Binit Paudel scored an unbeaten 38 and Arbind Saru scored 32 for Golpark. Man-of-the-match Rupesh Bastola took two wickets for Sai Global.

Top two teams will receive Rs 50,000 and Rs 25,000 respectively, while best player will get Rs 10,000. The best batsman and bowler will earn Rs 5,000 each. Vivek Barma, who lives in the US, has sponsored of the tournament in the name of his parents.
