Tamang, Shah advance to final

Rayana Shah and Saloni Tamang advanced to the U-14 girls’ singles final of the LA-JTI Inter-school Junior Open Tennis Tournament here at the Little Angels’ School courts today.

In the semi-final matches, Shah of Ace School defeated Sarbhani Shrestha of Rato Bangala 6-2, 6-1 and Tamang of Little Angels’ beat

Isha Shree Shah of St Xavier’s 6-3, 6-3.

In boys’ section semi-final matches, Adit Subedi of St Xavier’s saw off Nishan Shrestha of Kanjirowa 6-0, 6-4, while Samyak Bhushan Bajracharya of Shuvatara outplayed Aditya Subedi of Aksharaa School 6-3, 6-1.

In all-LA pairs in girls’ U-14 section, Saloni Tamang and Sikuma Limbu beat the duo of Jeny Maharjan and Marsha Maharjan 6-1, 6-0, while Harshita Panta and Karuna Budhathoki saw off Jasmin Tamang and Kritagya Neupane 6-1, 6-0 to make it to the final.

Likewise, Rayana Shah also secured semi-final spot in the girls’ U-12 section beating Alsha Gurung of John Dewey 6-1, 6-0.

Little Angels’ Subhangee Laxmi Shah beat Elim Kids’ Shiristha Rai 6-1, 6-2, Sarbhana Shrestha outplayed Ibha Adhikari of St Mary’s 6-1, 6-0 and Isha Shree

Shah of St Xavier’s defeated Samridhi Shrestha of Malpi 6-0, 6-0 to advance to the last four.

In boys’ U-12, Nepal Police Club’s Nischal Adhikari, Prasiddha Basnet, Chirag Timalsina and Saroj Lama along with Pranab Manandhar of Kasthamandap, Pritam Pariyar of Bishwa Niketan, Aditya Subedi of Aksharaa and Rajbir Pradhan of Central School advanced to the quarter-finals.

In boys’ U-9, Little Angels’ Saksham Bikram Shah, Ayush Rai, Nepal Police School’s Shivam Maharjan and Slok Khadka as well as Ayushman Ghale of John Dewey entered the semi-finals.

Prasamsha Moktan of Premier beat Nala Maskey of International French School 4-0, 4-0 and Sonira Thapa of St Mary’s outplayed The British School’s Saibhi Dhakal 4-0, 4-0 and advanced to the girls’ U-9 category final.
