Tamang wins 50km Ultra-Trail Australia

KATHMANDU: Nepal’s Samir Tamang won the 50km Ultra-Trail Australia 2017 in the Blue Mountains, Australia on Saturday.

Nepal Army’s Tamang, 32, clocked four hours, seven minutes and nine seconds to win the race. Tamang was only 10 seconds ahead of Australia’s Stuart Gibson, who took four hours, seven minutes and 19 seconds to complete the race. Thibaut Baronian from France came third with the timing of four hours, eight minutes and 33 seconds.

Tamang had competed in the race after finishing third in the FWD North Pole Marathon held on April 9.
