Ahmed century lifts Pakistan to 251 in 2nd ODI

LONDON: Sarfraz Ahmed hit a gritty century and anchored Pakistan to 251 after an early collapse in the second one-day international against England on Saturday.

Ahmed made 105 off 130 balls at Lord's with six fours and led Pakistan's recovery after England seamers had mopped up the top order to reduce the tourists to 3-2 inside the first four overs.

Imad Wasim added 77 runs for the sixth wicket with Ahmed and stayed unbeaten on 63 before Pakistan was bowled out in 49.5 overs after captain Azhar Ali won the toss and opted to bat.

Ahmed also shared half-century stands with Babar Azam (30) and Shoaib Malik (28) before he was caught in the deep off leg-spinner Adil Rashid.

Chris Woakes (3-42) and Mark Wood (3-46) did most of the damage.
