Sherpa wins Pepsi Open title

Kathmandu, September 22

Ang Dendi Sherpa won the title of the Pepsi Open Golf Tournament here at the Gokarna Golf Club today.

Played under stableford 3/4 handicap format, the eight-handicap amateur golfer earned 41 points to bag the trophy. Madhav Simkhada came runner-up with 36 points, and also he won the longest drive award.

Vijay Shrestha Einhaus won the gross section trophy with 36 points. Pratima Sherpa lifted the women’s category trophy with 33 points, while Devasri Rana came second with 27 points.

Maj Bejoy Moktan bagged the senior section title with 36 points, whereas Maj Gen Daman Ghale finished second with 33 points. Shreeyog Basnyat claimed the junior section title with 38 points and Sadbhav Acahrya was runner-up with 31 points.

Phuyal bagged the most birdies title with four birdies, while Dhruba Thapa won the closest-to-the-pin award. A total of 85 golfers participated in the tournament.

Sales Manager of Varun Beverages Pvt Ltd Pradeep Kumar Rana, President of Gokarna Golf Club Suhrid Ghimire and Captain Joseph Nathan handed over the prizes to the winners.
