Shrijana outplay Martyrs

Kathmandu, May 26

Shrijana Gyan Sagar and Tillingtar Higher Secondary School registered victories, while Wisdom English Academy and Siddhartha Vanasthali School earned walkover wins in the Coca-Cola Cup Inter-school Football Tournament here at the Sano Gaucharan grounds today.

Shrijana Gyan Sagar hammered Martyrs Memorial School 11-0. Aayush Shrestha scored five goals alone and Aasish Thakuri netted four for the winners, while Samir Tamang and Sweekar Subedi also joined the scoring spree. Thakuri opened the scoring for Shrijana Gyan Sagar in the fifth minute before Shrestha doubled the tally one minute later.

Shrestha then found the back of the nets in the 22nd and 42nd minutes to complete his hat-trick before adding two more in the 47th and 66th minutes. Thakuri scored his second goal in the 32nd minute and completed his hat-trick in the 50th. He scored his fourth goal in the 68th minute. Likewise, Tamang scored in the 17th minute and Subedi got into the score sheet in the 30th minute.

In another match, Tillingtar defeated Reliance Co-Ed School 3-0 riding on a brace from Anil Tamang. Tamang gave an early lead to Tillingtar in the seventh minute before doubling the tally in the 20th minute. Tillingtar went into the break with a comfortable 2-0 lead and they added one more in the second half. Dhiraj Shrestha made it 3-0 in the 58th.

Meanwhile, Wisdom earned the walkover win from Everest English Secondary School, while Siddhartha Vanasthali were declared the winners after a no show from Suvakamana Boarding School.
