Sripali, Bista vow to work together

Kathmandu, August 16

Minister for Youth and Sports Daljit Sripali and National Sports Council (NSC) Member Secretary Keshab Kumar Bista today vowed to support each other for the overall development of sports.

At a programme organised by the NSC to welcome the newly-appointed Minister Shripali, they committed to work for the sake of sports despite representing two separate political parties.

Shripali is Minister from CPN Maoist Centre, while Bista is affiliated with CPN UML. “We had a meeting and are ready to support and cooperate with each other to go hand in hand for the development of sports,” said Shripali.

“We are from separate political parties, but will not let Nepali sports be politicised,” Minister Shripali said. “I am well aware about the wrong doings and positive aspects of Nepali sports sector and will work to bring changes,” he added.

Similarly, NSC Member Secretary Bista, who expressed his willingness to complete his four-year tenure, said that he would not take any decision without Minister Shripali’s consent and follow his directives. Minister for Youth and Sports is the ex officio chairman of the NSC.

“We both have common target of sports development. So, I will not get involved in any confrontation with the minister.

I am ready to support him and follow his directives,” said Bista, who claimed o have zero corruption and financial embezzlement in the NSC after his appointment.
