Defending champion Bhawana Sunuwar and Bipana Blon entered the final of the fourth Civil Bank Open Squash Championship here at the Squash Academy courts today.

In the women’s singles semi-final matches, Sunuwar outplayed Sapana Blon 11-3, 11-6, 11-3 to take berth in the final, while Bipana Blon registered a 11-1, 11-6, 11-8 victory over Swosthani Shrestha.

In boys’ U-13 semi-final matches, Ranjit Thapa beat Sabin Thapa Magar 11-7, 11-4, 6-11, 11-5, while Gopal Thapa saw off Bikash Magar 11-5, 11-4, 11-2. Likewise, Deepak Thapa recorded a 11-9, 11-5, 11-4 win over Bijay Magar and Amir Blon struggled against Roshan Lama to win the battle 11-6, 14-12, 8-11, 11-8 in the semi-final matches of boys’ U-19 category.

Defending champion Sudeep Bahadur Singh will face British Gurkha participant Yam Rana in the final of the veteran singles final. Singh beat Mahendra Maharjan 11-1, 11-0, 11-5, while Rana made it 11-4, 12-10, 11-6 against Lal Bahadur Gurung. The men’s singles semi-finals along with all the final matches will be played on Saturday.
