Swimmers to depart

KATHMANDU: A six-member swimming team is on Wednesday leaving for Hungary to take part in the 17th FINA World Championships that kicked off in Budapest on July 14.

Suvan Shrestha will compete in 50m and 100m breaststroke events, while Anubhav Subba will swim in 50m butterfly and 100m freestyle categories.

Similarly, Sofia Shah will take part in the 50m and 100m freestyle, while Tisha Shakya will compete in 100m breaststroke and 200m freestyle in women’s section.

Coach Ratna Lal Maharjan and official Paras Shrestha will accompany the players to Budapest.

Meanwhile, National Sports Council Treasurer and Olympian Surendra Hamal and Nepal Swimming Association General Secretary Jagat Man Shrestha among others bade farewell to the team.
