KATHMANDU: A 10-member swimming team on Sunday left for the United States to participate in the sixth World Junior Swimming Championship to be held in Indiana from August 21-26.

Yugen Sherpa, Alexander Shah, Gaurav Maharjan, Bedagya Raj Joshi, Tisa Shakya, Akshara Singh and Osina Bharati will compete in the championship.

Nepal Swimming Association Member Sagar Shakya (Chef-de-mission), Shankar Karki (coach) and NSA joint-treasurer Najiruddin Muslim (team manager) accompanied the players to the US.

National Sports Council Member Secretary Keshab Kumar Bista bade farewell to the team.
