TAC, Golden Gate enter final

Tribhuvan Army Club and Golden Gate International College advanced to the final of the Kwik’s Basketball League here today.

In the playoff matches, TAC thrashed Himalayan Hounds 105-79, while Golden Gate recorded a 113-79 win over Bishal Milan Kendra.

In the first match, TAC dominated the first three quarters 29-11, 19-17 and 29-23 before both the teams scored 28 points in the fourth period.

TAC’s Sadish Pradhan top scored with 23 points, while Aashish Basnet netted 22 points and Rabin Khatri added 18 points. Mabindra Bhandari netted 22 points for Hounds, while Saurav Shrestha contributed 14 points.

In the second playoff, Golden Gate took the first two quarters 29-20 and 32-11 respectively. After both teams netted 29 points each in the third period, Golden Gate took the fourth 23-19 on their way to post the highest team score. TAC had earlier scored 111 in the league match.

Golden Gate’s Anish Shahi Thakuri netted 16 points and Bikram Dangol contributed 14 points, while Bibek Shrestha of BMK added 17 points and Binit Jung Rana contributed 16 points.

The final and third place matches are slated for Saturday.
