Kathmandu, May 5:
After a daylong event at Patan Durbar Square, the Nepal Development Marketplace 2005 (NDM) concluded today with the announcement of 20 winners, who will receive a grant award up to Rs 14 million. They will use the seed money to test their innovative ideas and partnerships on how to improve basic service delivery in conflict-hit areas.
The winners are Centre for Renewable Energy, District Agriculture Development Office (Panchthar and Morang), Suspa Education Development Committee, Himanchal Higher Secondary School, Nucleus for Empowerment through Skill Transfer, Generating Income to Foster Transformation, Support Foundation, Salt Trading Corporation Ltd, District Coffee Producers’ Association, Remote Area Women and Children Empower Centre and Federation of Community Forest Users’ Nepal, Shesh Narayan.
Likewise, Khotang Development Forum won awards for two different projects, while Environment & Public Health Organisation, Integrated Technology Development Nepal, Group for Rural Infrastructure Development Nepal, Global Multiple Cooperation Organisation, Jeevan Bikas Samaj, MILAN and Fewa Matsya Byawasayi Samitee were also awarded on the occasion. National Poet Madhav Prasad Ghimire awarded the winners.
