TANAHUN: Defying an order of the Tanahun District Court and the District Administration Office (DAO) to stop the sale of a plot of land belonging to one Gaban Singh in Tanahun’s Dhorphirdi VDC-3, the land revenue office has transferred the ownership of the land. On the basis of an application filed by Singh’s daughter-in-law, Gita Poudel Chhetri (Malla), demanding divorce from her husband Amrit Bahadur Malla and demanding that the sale of the plot of land be stopped, the district court and the DAO had written separate letters to the land revenue office asking it to stop the sale of the plot. According to Krishna Poudel, Gita’s uncle, while the land revenue office gave him a copy of the land certificate on Poush 21 saying that the land has not been sold, on Poush 22, it informed the district court that the land had been sold on Poush 20. Meanwhile, Kharidar of the land revenue office Hari Dhakal said that the plot had been sold after he left the office, according to Poudel. In the information sent to the court on Poush 22, the Dhordiphirdi-3-based land — kitta number 469, 545, and 668 — had been transferred in the name of one Subidha Malla on Poush 20.
