KATHMANDU, JANUARY 08
The Department of Passport today claimed that the technical glitch that had halted distribution of passports has now been resolved.
The department issued a notice asking passport applicants to contact the department to receive their document, following the confirmation of document readiness which will be updated via mobile SMS or on Nepal e-passpport application.
Meanwhile, the department also assured that in line with PM Dahal's directives, any and all necessary measures are being implemented to ease the entire passport application process.
Earlier, on January 1, the Department of Passport had experienced a technical issue and subsequently all passport distribution services had to be suspended indefinitely.
Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal had instructed all concerned authorities to take immediate steps to mitigate passport woes including having to queue for extended hours.
A technical team from France is expected to arrive to sort out storage issue seen since the past few days in the electric passport server system.
