Rs 18 lakhs prizes awarded in Protein Run

KATHMANDU, JANUARY 28

Nepal Veterinary Association awarded a total sum of NRs. 18,00,000 in the fourth season of the Right to Protein Run (RTPR) half marathon event, which is also considered to be the biggest half marathon event in Nepal in terms of total participants and the prize money.

In the race organized in Kathmandu, Sanotshi Shrestha bagged a handsome amount of NRs 150,000 for the third time in a row for being first in the females' half marathon category.

Pruna Laxmi Neupane and Puspa Bhandari came second and third consecutively. Rajan Rokaya of Tribhuvan Army club, completed the half marathon in one hour six minutes and 10 seconds to grab the first place in the men's category. He was also awarded an equal amount of cash prize. Khadak Bahadur Khadka and Julius Murkuli became second and third.

The race was inaugurated by Tankalal Ghising, Member Secretary, of the National Sports Council-Nepal, at Dasharath Rangashala.

More than 8000 participants from diverse backgrounds, including veterinarians, students, fitness enthusiasts, and members of the general public participated in the various race categories including 10 km (open male), 5 km (Female open category and school boys), 3 km (school girls), wheelchair run (male/female) and run for fun (kids).

Altogether 40 winners in 8 different categories were awarded with cash prize from Rs 2500 to 150000.

Minister for Agriculture and Livestock Development Ramnath Adhikari, member secretary of the National Sports Council Nepal Tanklal Ghising, awarded the winners.
