2 pilgrims killed in microbus mishap

PYUTHAN: Two pilgrims were killed and 13 injured when a microbus returning from Sworgadwari Ashram met with an accident on Thursday. According to Chudamani Pokharel, acting chief, Bhringi Primary Health Centre, five pilgrims were critically hurt. The dead have been identified as Nani KC (59) of Dhobighat and Krishna Basnet (59) of Pulchowk in Lalitpur. According to Pyuthan DSP Rajendra Dhakal, the vehicle ferrying 21 Kathmandu residents had had the accident when its brakes failed. Sabina Basnet (65) of Pulchowk, Shova Karki (50) of Anamnagar, Sharada Acharya (70) of Gyaneshwor, Kritijung Karki (65) of Kupondol and Renu Basnet (55) of Dhobighat sustained critical injuries. The injured could not be ferried to Kathmandu via chopper due to an unfavourable weather.
