KATHMANDU: Trinity, Golden Gate International College and Golfutar reached the men's quarter-finals of the third White House Cup U-19 Baskeball Tournament here today. In the pre-quarter final matches held at the National Sports Counil covered hall, Trinity defeated National College 49-35 after Santosh Thapa scored 13 points. Trinity maintained their lead in the last three quarters backed by a huge 15-5 lead in the first. National went head to head in the second with 10-10 and 6-6 in the third quarter but they were knocked out of the tournament when Trinity took a four point lead (18-14) in the final quarter. Golden Gate eased past hosts White House 48-37 while Golfutar overcame Xaiver International College 32-27 riding on 18 points from Mohan Limbu. Meanwhile, Gyanodaya earned a walkover win from NBC to reach the last eight. Kaski and Triton also won their last 16 matches to reach the quarter-finals. Sunam Pun contributed a match winning 26 points as Kaski ended Prime's challenge with 67-49 while Triton overpowered Little Angels 41-24 with 12-point contribution from Manish Tamang.
