KATHMANDU: Chhetri Students’ Society today padlocked the office of Tribhuvan University Service Commissions, demanding the withdrawal of reservation quota system for assistance professors. The agitating students said it was a mockery of TU— the biggest academic institution of the country—’to deprive thousands of other qualified human resources of enjoying their rights’. Ramesh Basnet, coordinator of Chhetri Students’ Society, alleged that TU administration was being operated by external forces and educational mafia to serve the interest of handful of people. “The quota system has barred hundreds of qualified Brahman and Chhetris from vying for the post of assistant professors in TU,” he said. He warned of continuing the agitation until the quota system was revoked. Earlier, the agitating students had padlocked TUSC .
