GAIGHAT: Activists of Kirat Janabadi Workers Party (KJWP) torched two buses accusing them of defying bandh called by the party today. Three armed cadres of the party in combat dress torched the buses in Thokshila area at around 8 am and in Kadmaha-Gaighat road section at around 12 noon. According to Manoj Yadav, DSP, District Police Office, there was no causality in the incidents as the KJWP cadres torched the buses after asking passengers and staffers to come out of the vehicles. Party cadres also manhandled a conductor of a Dharan bound bus. The party had called the bandh demanding release of their cadre, Jeeban Rai alias 'Dharati', who was detained by police a week ago. Rai was detained while collecting donation with the members of Community Forest Consumers Group. Police arrested Kiran Rai, Parbat Bista and Arjun Rai in connection to today's incident. However, KJWP leader Netra claimed that the detained persons were not their cadres.
