Padlocked Dang VDC office yet to open

LAMAHI: Authorities are yet to take initiative to open the Bela Village Development Committee office Dang district which remains padlocked for more than 25 days now. The cadres of Unified CPN-Maoist had padlocked the office in protest. The Maoists have been demanding cancellation of decisions made by the VDC council preparatory meeting. They Maoists have accused that other political parties isolated them and took decisions unilaterally. However, Ram Saran Yadav, representative, Madheshi Janadhikar Forum, claimed that the Maoist padlocked the office when other parties urged the Maoist not attempt to impose only their decisions in the meeting. The village council meeting scheduled for March 7 also could not be held due to Maoists’ protest. Nepali Congress representative Ramchhore Yadav said that Maoists representatives have been boycotting the meetings.
