Services halted in Koshi Zonal Hospital

BIRATNAGAR: All the services except emergency have been halted in the Koshi Zonal Hospital to protest the assault on hospital's lab technician Rewati Pokharel yesterday. According to Pokharel, students of the National Institute Academy had assaulted him when he asked them to take permission from the department head to use the instruments of the lab. He said, "I had asked them to come to the lab after taking permission from the section officer, but they assaulted me saying 'Who are you? Does the lab belong to you alone?" Pokharel has been undergoing treatment in the hospital. Pokharel said that the students led by Kasinder Choudhari had assaulted him in a planned manner. Pokharel's friend Bablu Raya was also injured in the attack. Meanwhile, the Medical Lab Association of Nepal (MELAN) issuing a press release has informed that all the labs across the nation would be shut. MELAN has also informed that the dialogue regarding the incident will be held Tomorrow.
