Himalayan News Service TAULIHAWA: Five workers died due to suffocation inside a septic tank of an under-construction house belonging to Prakash Kebat at Niglihawa VDC in Kapilvastu today. According to Kapilvastu District Police Office, the incident occurred while one of the workers was taking out wooden items that were used for construction from the tank. Other workers also entered the tank one after another to rescue their friends, who did not come out of the tank. Superintendent of Police Bikram Gurung said all five lost their lives due to asphyxiation. The deceased have been identified as Ramesh Pasi, Bhadai Tharu, Tilak Tharu, Taileshwor Tharu and Shivanarayan Yadav of Banganga. It is learnt that Ramesh entered the tank first and others followed suit when he did not come out for long. Locals and police, who reached the spot, took out the unconscious workers from the tank and rushed them to the district hospital. SP Gurung said all of them took their last breath while being treated at the hospital. The bodies have been kept in the district hospital for post-mortem.
