KATHMANDU: The Ministry of Agricultural Development (MoAD) conducted a coordination seminar among various projects run under it. The seminar was conducted in Surkhet on Thursday. Officials of the Ministry as well as its projects and subordinate agencies presented eight papers at the seminar. The participants also requested the Ministry to implement conclusions made during the seminar as soon as possible. The lessons learnt by various projects, their experience and success stories were also shared by participants in the seminar. The seminar was presided over by Achyut Prasad Dhakal, Regional Agriculture Director of Mid-Western Development Region whereas Bijay Kumar Mallik, Mid-Western Regional Administrator and Dr. Shyam Kishor Shah, MoAD Joint-Secretary, were chief guests of the function. Meanwhile, Project for Agriculture Commercialisation and Trade (PACT) director Dr Indra Kant Jha inspected a slaughterhouse run by Shree Devi Multipurpose Cooperative in Birendranagar of Surkhet district. PACT is providing a grant of around Rs 2.2 million to the slaughterhouse whereas the cooperative will invest around Rs 1.7 million. Many locals and employees of slaughterhouse are expected to be benefitted from its operation.
