JAJARKOT: It has been found that saline solution being administered to some patients at the Jajarkot District Hospital contained moss. Attendants and kin of Asmita BK, a high blood pressure patient, on Saturday found that the solution had moss. BK from Khalanga-2 of the district was taken to the Hospital after her blood pressure suddenly increased. BK informed that her family found lichens in the saline water given by the District Hospital. After the case was reported, doctors there suggested to stop using that and the family brought the fresh pack from a pharmacy, she added. She demanded that concerned authorities take actions against the supplier of the polluted solutions and the doctors who administered it. Meanwhile, she also complained that people are forced to pay prices for some medicines even if the government rules require them to be distributed for free. Meanwhile, Chief of District Health Office, Dhir Jung Shah, said the solution was among the drugs sent by the government and admitted that the contamination took place while failing to store it safely. Janak KC, Jajarkot district president of Federation of Nepali Journalists said it is a right of citizens to get all the facilities provided by the government.
