KATHMANDU: Police have arrested six persons with possession of two pistols, two magazines and three rounds of bullets. The suspects have been identified as Beg Bahadur Tamang (33) of Lapaga-5 of Dhading, Samrat Rai (24) of Mahendranagar-9 of Sunsari, Sunil Tamang (19) of Jhor-9, Sandesh Tamang (22) of Lapaga-4, Dhading, Kaji Shrestha (28) of Nilkantha-3, Dhading and Prem Gurung of Darkhaga-8, Dhading. Based on information that some armed gangs have been meandering in the Capital with an intention of theft and robbery, a police team deployed from the Metropolitan Police Crime Division under the command of DSP Ramesh Thapa nabbed Beg Bahadur, Sunil and Samrat with a pistol and its magazine from Kalanki, KMC-14. During the interrogation, the suspects revealed that some of his accomplices with weapons were also arriving in Kathmandu from Dhading, the police team stepped up vigil in different parts of the Dhading district and managed to detain Sandesh, Kaji and Prem from Jhyaple Khola of Chandragiri-5 in the border of Kathmandu and Dhading with a pistol, its magazine and three rounds of bullets. Later, the police team carried out a raid at the rented room of Samrat at Jyatha and recovered a police uniform.
