BAJURA: Farmers in various districts in the far-west region have started paddy plantation. Local farmers of Achham, Bajura, Doti, Kailali, Bajhang and Baitadi among other districts began paddy plantation after the region started receiving rain since Wednesday. 'We are delighted to start paddy plantation with the onset of monsoon,' said farmer Harka Shah of Achham, adding that farmers in the region had long been waiting for the rains to arrive. The farmers in the region generally begin paddy plantation in the first week of June. But it was delayed this year due to late monsoon. CoAS leaves for India KATHMANDU: Chief of Army Staff Gaurav SJB Rana on Friday left for India on a four-day private visit, a Nepali Army official said. During the visit, CoAS Rana will attend social functions and meet relatives in India. He will return home on Monday.
