Security beefed up in Tarai districts

POKHARA: As the date for promulgating the new constitution is approaching nearer, security has been beefed up in three Tarai districts of the Western Region. It has been learned that regional heads of the Nepal Police (NP), the Armed Police Force (AFP) and the National Investigation Department (NID) have already been deployed in the districts after the ongoing strike in Rupandehi, Nawalparasi and Kapilvastu added challenge to peace and security. According to the Western Regional Police Office, Pokhara, DIG Pankaj Shrestha of the NP, Janaki Raj Bhattarai of the AFP and Director of NID Yadav Prasad Regmi have been deployed to monitor three volatile districts of the Lumbini Zone.
