Matrika Yadav, JP Gupta to back UDMF to intensify protests

KATHMANDU: CPN (Maoist) Coordinator Matrika Yadav and Tarai Madhes National Campaign Coordinator Jaya Prakash Gupta have decided to support the United Democratic Madhesi Front (UDMF) to make the ongoing agitations in Tarai more effective. Claming that the state was trying to promulgate the new constitution forcefully, the parties have decided to fly black flags in each and every house in Madhes and Tharuhat villages, a joint statement issued on Saturday said. The parties have also decided to dispatch their cadres in various districts of Tarai to burn copies of the new constitution. They have also appealed all Nepali people to support their protest programmes. The statement was signed by Sadhbhawan Party Chairman Rajendra Mahato on behalf of UDMF, CPN (Maoist) Coordinator Matrika Yadav and Tarai Madhes National Campaign Coordinator Jaya Prakash Gupta. President would announce commencement of the new constitution from Constituent Assembly meeting at 5:00 pm tomorrow.
