KATHMANDU: Pashupati Paneru of MPC defeated Ram Singh Chaudhari of Kailali 15-7, 13-15, 15-2 and Pankaj Chand beat fellow APF shuttler Indra Mehata 15-1, 15-0 to advance to the men’s final at the Birthday Cup Badminton Tournament. In women’s singles semi-finals, MPC’s Sara Devi Tamang beat APF’s Samjhana Khaling 11-3, 11-4 and APF’s Puja Shrestha beat Bina Tulachan of Nakhipot 11-3, 11-4. The duo of Puja and Samjhana; Sunita Pun and Mina Pakh-rin; Sara Devi and Sujana Shrestha; and Bina and Kri-shna Pun entered the wo-men’s doubles semis. — HNS
