French Army personnel POKHARA: A team of seven French Army personnel has returned to their nation by abandoning the mission to scale the Mount Annapurna in Kaski district. The team led by Major Jean Yves Igonenc had begun the journey to scale the mountain on September 12. However, the melting of snow halted the climbing campaign, informed Jourdain Didier, one of the team members. Altogether nine members including four to scale the 8,091-metre high Annapurna I and other three to scale the 7,219-metre high Annapurna South, were in the expedition team, informed expedition team leader Major Igonenc. Mountaineering guide Tendi Sherpa said team was willing to climb the peaks without any oxygen support.
