Kavre, October 19 With increasing access to advanced and new technologies for communication, the trend of sending letters through post office has almost become non-existent of late years in Kavre. District Post Office, Kavre witnesses negligible number of people. “With mobile phones and social media becoming popular, barely anyone dispatches letters through the post office,” said Bal Krishna KC, chief of Kavre District Post Office. According to him, very few letters are sent through the postal service. People visit the post office only if they have something confidential, which they cannot express over phone or through social media, and if they have to file a complaint against an individual/organisation. KC said, “People use the services only if they have to file complaint against an individual or organisation.” Though a negligible number of people visit the office to post letters, a considerable number of people visit the office to buy postage stamps. The post office also observes the implementation of the right to information and issues licenses to FM radios in the district.
