KATHMANDU: A man on Thursday night attacked an elderly couple with a sharp weapon, killing a woman and injuring her husband, in Tanahun.

Police said Gaurab Bahadur Gurung (30) from Jhapaga, Shukla Gandaki Municipality-7, Tanahun, attacked local Rum Maya Gurung (76) and her 80-year-old husband Om Man Singh last night.

While Rum Maya died on the spot, Om Man Singh sustained injuries in the attack, police said.

The injured was rushed to the Pokhara-based Manipal Hospital, and he returned home after treatment, police said.

While looking for the suspects, police are investigating into the case.
