JHAPA: An elderly pedestrian died when a motorbike hit her at Topgachhi-5, along the East-west Highway in Jhapa on Thursday. The victim has been identified as Dambar Kumari Karki, 60, of Topgachhi-3 of the district. She breathed her last while being rushed to Biratnagar-based Neuro Hospital, informed District Police Office Jhapa. Her body has been kept at the health facility and the motorbike rider Rom Nath Pathak, 25, of Khudunabari-4 has been detained. Meanwhile, Hira Lal Rasaili, 40, of Bahundangi-4 of the district died on the spot when the motorcycle he was riding was hit by a truck at Itabhatta in Jhapa on Thursday. The deceased’s 38-year-old wife Rudra Maya Rasaili, who was riding pillion, sustained injuries and is receiving treatment.
