2 Nepalis among 11 electrocuted in India

SIRAHA: Two among 11 people killed in Jayanagar Bazaar in India on Tuesday noon after they touched a transmission cable have been identified as Nepalis, Indian police said. A deceased from Nepal has been identified as Saroj Kumar Yadav of Lagadi Gadiyani VDC-2 in Siraha, while the identity of another Nepali national killed in the incident is yet to be ascertained, Sub-Inspector Shankar Chaudhary said. Indian police confirmed that the identity of the Nepali person killed in the incident has been established based on the documents that were with the deceased during the incident. Total 11 people including two Nepalis were burnt to death when they came in contact with the 11,000-volt live transmission wire that fell to the ground by accident. The motorcycle, which Yadav was riding on while the incident occurred, was also burnt completely, police said. Police said that the Nepali deceased had gone to the bordering town of Jayanagar Bazaar to purchase essentials.
