KATHMANDU: Closed session of the newly formed Baburam Bhattarai-led political group, which identified itself as the New Force, began in Kathmandu on Sunday. According to a New Force campaigner, Khim Lal Devkota, around 1,500 people, in eight groups, have participated in the discussions on preliminary plan of action of the group, at the Chabahil-based SR Party Palace. Devkota further stated that the party discussed three major issues of the current politics; official political democracy and economic base of backwardness, internal conflict based on caste and regional diversity and inequality, and geo-political situation of Nepal and the opportunities and challenges created by it. In addition, efforts to 'make the new Nepal and the party synonymous to each other' were discussed, he added. “There is no any leader and no any cadre in the ‘Naya Shakti’, we all are campaigners and everyone will be working for themselves not under any hierarchy,” he stated. “Our guidelines state youth power will pilot the party in the future,” Devkota claimed.
