KATHMANDU: The CPN-UML has elected former Speaker Subas Chandra Nembang as the deputy leader of its Parliamentary Party. Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli is the Parliamentary Party leader of the ruling party. Nembang, who was elected from Ilam-2, served as the Chairman of the Constituent Assembly, which doubled as the Legislature-Parliament, twice. After the promulgation of new constitution in September, he was succeeded by Onsari Gharti of UCPN-Maoist as the Speaker. A meeting of the CPN-UML's Parliamentary Party was held today took decision to this effect. Likewise, the meeting chose Bhanubhakta Dhakal as the party's chief whip. The position was vacant after Agni Prasad Kharel was appointed as minister in the KP Sharma Oli-led Cabinet.
