Sindhulimadi, January 7 Anti-quake model houses, which had been built by Nepal Red Cross Society Sindhuli Unit were handed over to Sitalpati Red Cross Sub-unit today, following the campaign for constructing earthquake resistant houses in the VDCs affected by the massive temblor of April 25 and its subsequent aftershocks in the district. Minister for Agriculture Haribol Gajurel inaugurated the buildings and handed over the houses constructed with the joint effort of Nepal Red Cross and Swiss government, amidst a function today. The houses were built at Kusheshwor, Jhangajholi, Purano Jhangajholi, Sitalpati and Majhuwa VDCs of the district. “Such model houses were built in order to make the victims of the earthquake aware about the construction of anti-quake structures by using local resources at an affordable cost. Each house costs Rs 4.5 lakh for construction if local resources and other raw materials are used,” informed District Red Cross Sindhuli.
