RASUWA: Improvised ovens were distributed to the folks of Yarsha and Dhunche VDCs in Rasuwa district on Monday. According to WWF Nepal Field Office of Langtang National Park and Buffer Zone Support Project, altogether 400 improved ovens have been distributed among the locals of Yarsha and Dhunche VDCs so far. It is learned that the ovens made up of iron plates and rod would save cooking time and are smoke-free. The Project is co-working with the National Park for the past eight years to effectively carry out the conservation bids to reduce the consumption of firewood and reduce the locals' dependency on forest.
