Tents, warm clothes sent for quake victims

GORKHA: The District Disaster Rescue Committee, in collaboration with Care Nepal, have dispatched tents and warm clothes to the quake victims hit hard by the biting cold triggered by heavy snowfall at Laprak and Gumda in Gorkha. Heavy snowfall followed by rainfall and hailstones since Saturday have made it intolerable for people Gorkha’s Laprak, Chhekembar, Samagaun, Larke, Barpak, Sipribas and Gumda VDCs. Freezing cold caused by the rainfall, hailstones and heavy snowfall has left the quake victims to suffer untold misery. The cold has hit the children and elderly the most. Gorkha CDO Uddawraj Timalsena said 852 tents and 7,200 warm jackets had been sent to Laprak and Gumda.
