POKHARA: Five persons, including three women, have been arrested in possession of 15.5 kg hashish from Sarangkot, on the outskirts of Pokhara Valley. The Nepal Police's Narcotics Control Bureau arrested 46-year-old Saraswati Pahari, who runs the Himalayan View Guest House in Sarangkot along with her sister 43-year-old Deumaya Pahari; 62-year-old Hari Pun of Lekhani, Baglung; 55-year-old Sun Bahadur Gharti Magar of Harichaur, Baglung; and 50-year-old Bishnu Kumari Pun of Darwang, Myagdi. According to the NCB, Bishnu Kumari and Sun Bahadur would buy the contraband in Baglung and send it to Pokhara along with Hari. Pahari duo would sell hashish in Kaski district, particularly the tourist valley of Pokhara, making Sarangkot their base. Their customers were mainly foreign tourists visiting Pokhara, the NCB said. Acting on a tip-off that Pahari sisters were involved in drug trade, police kept tabs on them and raided Saraswati's house where 9.5 kg of contraband was found. During interrogation, police found out that other people were also involved in the drug trade.  Subsequently,  the three others were also arrested based on Pahari duo's statement. Police seized 5 kg from Sun Bahadur's and 1.5 kg from Hari's possession . Inspector Rabindra Gurung of NCB informed that the duo told police they paid Rs 30,000 for one kilogram of hashish, while they would sell it for up to Rs 600 a tola to their clients. Police spent three whole days to identify members of the racket and bust it. SI Bidyadhar Tripathi suspected all the suspects might be professional drug dealers. Nepal Police filed charges against them at the Kaski District Court today itself. READ ALSO:
